Sanctuary Resort Makes Big Play for Wellness Travelers

Wellness Reigns at Sanctuary Resort

Sanctuary Resort & Spa is laying claim to being a top wellness destination with the opening of its new Spa House and a summer filled with wellness programming. Here’s a round-up of all things wellness going on at the five-star Scottsdale resort.

  • Top wellness expert Bizzie Gold will lead a three-day IGNITE retreat, July 17-20. Expect to get toned for summer (both inside and out) via a journey of complete personal transformation. The program includes daily yoga, personal development sessions to target unhealthy emotional patterns and destructive behaviors, and simple nutritional solutions based on the trendy paleo diet, after which participants will receive a personalized nutrition plan. Guests will also enjoy two spa treatments. The all-inclusive package starts at $2,266.

  • Sanctuary’s recently unveiled Spa House is the ideal summer enclave for groups. The 3,500-square-foot house features an in-home massage therapy room, fitness studio, a private pool for cooling off from the summer heat, and other wellness amenities at a favorable summer price (starting at $1,900 per night, compared to $2,400 in-season for up to eight guests, with the ability to expand the group to 16 thanks to neighboring Terrace Suites).  You can read my review of Spa House here.

  • For a complete Zen experience, Sanctuary Spa is offering tempting summer specials through Aug. 31. The 60-minute Swedish Massage, Emperor Facial or Sanctuary Jewel Facial cost just $125 midweek, or $135 weekend (normally $165/$175, respectively). And if you book any 60-minute spa treatment at full price midweek, you will receive 50% off a second treatment of equal or lesser value.

  • Pools are in abundance at Sanctuary, from its signature infinity-edged oasis to the Spa’s lap pool. Those seeking a total body workout with minimal joint impact should take advantage of private swim sessions with Olympic Gold Medalist, Misty Hyman. Guests can improve stroke techniques, racing skills and general know-how through proven drills and sets. Misty caters to every swim level and interest, including triathletes, competitive swimmers, and everyday fitness enthusiasts. A single session rate is $150.
