For many a trip to Hawaii is almost like a spiritual experience. Now thanks to the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua’s first annual E Malama Kou Kino,” which translates to “Care for your Body” in native Hawaiian, visitors can have a true mind, body and spirit Hawaiian adventure Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
The four-day festival, open to locals and guests, celebrates wellness with Beth Shaw and her YogaFit team; Robert Ferguson – America’s Diet Free Life Coach; T’ai Chi Champion, David Dorian Ross; Strength and Conditioning coach, Nick Tumminello; and YogaGlo instructor Felicia Tomasko giving classes geared towards all levels of fitness.
“Mind and body health has always been a focus for The Ritz-Carlton, Kaplaua – not only for our guests, but also our ladies and gentlemen and the local community” said Steven Holt, Market Director of Public Relations for The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. “We are pleased to bring together some of the most talented and well-respected fitness experts from all over the country to share their wealth of knowledge with our ohana (family).”
During the event, the Waihua Spa will host nightly parties featuring skinny cocktails and healthy appetizers, mini treatments and raffles.
Wellness is a theme the Ritz plans to continue throughout the fall season. The resort’s cultural advisor will infuse elements of Hawaiian healing with traditional blessings and educational, interactive seminars, and naturalists from Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment will lead nature hikes and tours of the resort’s organic gardens. In the restaurants wellness will be highlighted with new skinny menus and the spa will be incorporating treatments using ingredients harvested from the onsite organic garden
